Jacqueline Chandler Birth Doula | Postpartum & Newborn Specialist | Educator Jacqueline can't think of a time when she wasn't passionate about reproductive health, and after the birth of her son in 2014, she decided to follow her heart and become a birth and postpartum doula. In her previous life, she had dreams of becoming a Foreign Service Officer with the State Department, but the thought of being too far away from breakfast tacos and family made her rethink that decision.  Working for over ten years full-time outside the home, and making the transition back to office life after only ten weeks off postpartum, has shaped her outlook on life pre- and post-birth and has provided her with a unique vantage point from which to serve families. Jacqueline believes it is a basic human right to birth the way one chooses and have access to all the information one needs to make informed choices.  Jacqueline is a certified birth and postpartum doula through Doula Trainings International (DTI), is a volunteer in the newborn nursery at St. David's Medical Center, and is a member of the Central Texas Doula Association. She feels fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful community at AustinBorn and looks forward to supporting families on life's most exciting journey.

Jessica Rhoads Birth Doula | Postpartum & Newborn Specialist | Placenta Specialist | CLEC Jessie is a Birth and Postpartum Doula, Placenta Specialist, Lactation Educator & Counselor, and Student Midwife.  After the birth of her first daughter, she felt an internal pull towards being a Doula and walking alongside women during their journey into parenthood. She was captivated by a profession that empowers mothers to find their own voice and make informed decisions during childbirth. She believes that prenatal education, a supportive team and knowing your options are the building blocks to a positive birth experience. Jessie’s training and education includes extensive breast feeding support, baby wearing education, birth planning, comfort measures for labor, placenta encapsulation, using herbs and oils during the childbearing year, as well as many others in her midwifery education and training. To date, Jessie has attended over 100 births and has caught over 20 babies.  Jessie is a mom of two lovely daughters. She had a peaceful home water birth of her second baby surrounded by so much love. She is currently on the path to have a more active role in supporting women’s brith choices and is enrolled in Midwifery school. On days off, she adores spending time chasing her barefoot kiddos, volunteering at her daughters school, dancing to live music, traveling, family dinners around the table, connecting to mother nature outside, and absorbing all things natural living, birth, and the creation of community, support, and empowerment of women from all walks of life.
